Activities
32 Volcanes welcomes short-term collaborators who are interested in a wide variety of regenerative projects and activities in education, health, agroecology, and culture. Short-term collaborators participate in 32 Volcanes' project activities according to the weekly project programming. The Service Learning Program centers its work on cultural belonging and relevance, allowing service learners to gain a greater understanding of Guatemala’s present by learning about its history.
Activities will vary according to the season. Some examples are:
Activities with the children at the Family Support Center
Participate in monthly meetings with the parents of scholarship students
Prepare food and supplement bags for families in the Nutrition Program
Assist 32V medical staff during Nutrition Program meetings
Help organize the pharmacy at the 32V clinic
Plant trees during reforestation activities
Field work in community gardens, oyster mushrooms modules, and biodigesters
Help set up and organize the space for events
Help prepare and serve food during cultural events and meetings
Spanish Language
Beginner Spanish speakers are welcome to participate as short-term collaborators.
We recommend that you take Spanish classes to expand and improve your experience in the program and the culture if you are a beginner or intermediate Spanish speaker. We offer recommendations to local Spanish schools that offer one-on-one classes in-person or online. Spanish classes have an additional cost. Please visit Celas Maya Spanish School and/or Utatlan Language School for more information.
