Activities
The 32 Volcanes Internship Program welcomes students and professionals who are ready for more responsibility and leadership opportunities in our education, health, agroecological, and/or cultural projects. The Service Learning Program centers its work on cultural belonging and relevance, allowing service learners to gain a greater understanding of Guatemala’s present by learning about its history.
During weeks 1-2, the intern will participate in general 32 Volcanes project activities, according to our project programming, in order to build a solid foundation and understanding of 32 Volcanes’ regenerative projects. During weeks 3+, the intern will focus on their preferred project activities according to their interests and the projects’ needs.
Activities could include:
Coordinate activities for short-term collaborators
Partner with Family Support Center staff to prepare and conduct activities for the children at the Family Support Center
Create and conduct educational activities for the parents of scholarship students
Assist 32 Volcanes medical staff during Nutrition Program meetings
Help organize the pharmacy at the 32 Volcanes clinic
Lead groups during reforestation activities
Field work in community gardens, oyster mushrooms modules, and biodigesters
Help prepare menus and meals at 32 Volcanes and the Family Support Center
