Activities
32 Volcanes welcomes groups to join our regenerative projects for half or whole day activities for one+ weeks. The trip will be designed specifically to meet the group’s interests and needs. The Service Learning Program centers its work on cultural belonging and relevance, allowing service learners to gain a greater understanding of Guatemala’s present by learning about its history.
Please request a quote at least one month before the group's planned arrival.
Group activities could include:
Prepare and conduct activities for the children at the Family Support Center
Prepare soil, clear land, plant, and tend community and raised-bed gardens at 32 Volcanes (seasonal)
Field work in oyster mushroom modules and biodigesters
Plants trees/reforestation (seasonal)
Assist with food preparation at 32 Volcanes or the Family Support Center
Assist in organizing in the pharmacy and other storage areas
Organize a local cultural event or benefit to support the projects of 32 Volcanes
Assist with activities and/or organization in the Biblioteca Mario Payeras
Spanish Language
Beginner Spanish speakers are welcome to participate in group trips.
We also recommend that you take Spanish classes to expand and improve your experience in the program and the culture if you are a beginner Spanish speaker. We offer recommendations to local Spanish schools that offer one-on-one classes in-person or online. Spanish classes have an additional cost.
